Do you need to be a member to use the website?
Anyone can shop or calculate and reduce their carbon footprint at EcoPerks.com, but to earn rewards, membership is required.
How do you become a member?

Every product and virtually every activity has an eco-footprint that is calculated based on an estimate of green house gases it produces. The calculation is used for people seeking to better understand their potential personal contribution to the emissions that cause global climate change.
How does EcoPerks.com provide a carbon neutral shopping experience?
Think of it as a balance – We reduce carbon emissions through the support of renewable energy and other environmental projects. The percentage of your purchase represented by one EcoPoint when applied to emissions-reducing projects is enough to balance the carbon footprint of the product’s production.

EcoPerks.com works with Sterling Planet, a leading provider of carbon reduction and energy solutions, to identify projects that will reduce emissions. Our projects include methane-based greenhouse gas projects, wind renewable energy certificates, re-wilding programs and other projects that meet specific guidelines set both by international reporting standards and EcoPerks.com.

How can EcoPerks.com help you balance your annual carbon footprint?
In our Reduce Your Impact section, members can complete a survey that uses a widely accepted methodology for estimating your carbon footprint. Once you have your footprint you can choose to purchase renewable energy credits or other emissions reducing products directly from an our accredited provider, Sterling Planet.
Do I earn EcoPoints for calculating and balancing my life?
Yes! Everyone earns EcoPoints for balancing some or all of their impact. You can earn up to 5000 points depending on your score and the offset products you purchase.
How do I use my EcoPoints?
If you help save the planet – you should get the perks. EcoPoints can be redeemed for green products, eco-adventures, concert tickets and other exciting rewards. Our catalogue is full of exciting products and experiences. If you don’t have enough EcoPoints for the reward you want – it’s no problem. For some rewards you can use a combination of cash and EcoPoints.
How are EcoPoints points assigned to products?
They’re not. Members receive two points for every dollar spent, excluding tax. If they already receive rewards from their credit card company, they can earn TRIPLE points – one from their credit card and two EcoPoints.
Is there are an expiration date on EcoPoints?
As long as a member has completed a transaction in the last six months, their EcoPoints never expire.
Can I direct my EcoPoints to a local charity or green initiative?
Yes. Partnership and collaboration is critical to protecting the planet. In the coming months we will be announcing arrangements with local communities, schools and organizations that will enable members to direct their EcoPoints for local impact.
Can you redeem EcoPoints for products available on the website?
EcoPoints are redeemable for products and rewards that are part of our rewards catalogue. The EcoPerks.com redemption catalog features a wide assortment of eco friendly products, eco-travel experiences, sporting events, concerts, and other exclusive rewards.
How is this different than a credit card rewards program?
EcoPerks.com is not a credit card company. You don’t need to apply for yet another credit card to become a member and begin earning EcoPoints. There are no credit implications or background checks. You just log on, register, and start reducing your impact.
Will customers pay more for access to the rewards program?
EcoPerks pricing is competitive with other offers on the web.
