"Use biodegradable soaps to wash your clothes and dishes. I'm not gonna lie- they won't get things as clean - but you'll be saving the planet, which is the right thing to do."
Paul McCrane
"I conserve water by turning off the tap when I brush my teeth and using a low flow shower head. We also have an on demand water heater that saves on energy by only heating water as we need it. And to keep the air conditioner running most efficiently, I change the filters regularly."
Adam Lazarre-White
"Unplug your appliances when not in use, don't overuse your heating and air conditioning and recycle, recycle, recycle."

Kirsty Hume
"In our recent home renovations project we used sustainably harvested floors from a company called EcoTimber, recycled denim insulation and put in a tankless water heater. All the paints were non-toxic and low VOC. We even reused some broken concrete from an old patio to build a wall, so we didn't need to bring in new materials for that part of the project."
Annie Potts
"I drive a Prius that I bought the day after the '04 election- I felt that I had to do something positive quick! I've changed all our bulbs to CFLs and we recycle, of course, but I feel like I still have a long way to go. I'd like to xeriscape our garden and conquer composting!"
Danny Futterman
"We're saving paper by using cloth napkins, increasing our fuel efficiency by driving a hybrid car and we're investigating solar panels for the house, to conserve energy"

"Conscious of living in a desert and the need to conserve water, we used drought tolerant plants when we landscaped our yard and installed a weather-based Irrigation controller, that keeps our water use to a minimum by automatically adjusting irrigation schedules in response to changing weather or environmental conditions. "
Laura Ensel and Jimmy Wood
"Get those shopping bags that you can reuse over and over and over and over. We just got Sigg water bottles so we can avoid the small plastic ones."
Amanda Seyfried and Douglas Smith
"Whenever possible, we carpool to the set of "Big Love" and we wouldn't think of using anything BUT our reusable water bottles."

"My four year old son loves to use gobs of paper and cardboard to make castles, robots, solar systems - any kind of structure he can think up. In an effort to conserve resources we started using my old scripts and the cardboard from used milk cartons, cracker boxes and shoeboxes (friends and family now donate theirs for our really big projects!). We found a way to preserve the planet while encouraging his artistic pursuits. "
